CESSNA CITATION I

The Cessna Citation I is a small twin-engine business jet that first flew in 1969 and entered service in 1971, becoming the foundation of Cessna's hugely successful Citation family. Designed to fill the gap between twin turboprop aircraft and larger jets, it offered an economical and straightforward option for small businesses and owner-operators. Its straight wings and turbofan engines made it slower than competitors like the Learjet — earning it the nickname "Slowtation" — but also easier to fly and capable of operating from shorter runways. Nearly 690 were built before production ended in 1985, and it served as the springboard for some of the most successful business jets ever produced.
